Crisis & Emergency Information

If You Are Experiencing a Mental Health Emergency

BluePrint Mental Health does not provide emergency or crisis services.

Our website, contact forms, email, routine phone messages, and appointment requests are not continuously monitored for emergencies and should not be used to request immediate psychiatric or medical assistance.

If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency, or may harm themselves or another person, do not wait for a response from BluePrint Mental Health.

Call 911

Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department for an immediate medical or psychiatric emergency.

Emergency services can provide immediate evaluation and assistance when a person is in imminent danger or requires urgent medical care.

Call or Text 988 for Crisis Support

If you are experiencing emotional distress, suicidal thoughts, a mental health crisis, or a substance-use-related crisis, you can call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

You can also access support through online chat at:

988lifeline.org

The 988 Lifeline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and provides free, confidential crisis support. It can also be contacted if you are concerned about someone else who may be experiencing a crisis.

When to Call 911 Instead of 988

Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department when there is an immediate medical or safety emergency.

Examples may include:

  • You or someone else is in immediate danger.
  • Someone has seriously injured themselves or another person.
  • There has been a serious overdose or other medical emergency.
  • A person is experiencing a severe medical or psychiatric emergency requiring immediate in-person attention.
  • There is an immediate threat of violence or serious harm.

When immediate physical safety or emergency medical care is needed, emergency services should be contacted without waiting for a response from BluePrint Mental Health or another routine healthcare provider.

If You Are Having Suicidal Thoughts

You do not need to wait until a situation becomes an emergency to seek crisis support.

You can call or text 988 at any time to speak with a trained crisis counselor. You may also contact 988 if you are worried about a family member, friend, or another person who may be experiencing a crisis.

If there is an immediate threat to life or safety, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

If You Are Receiving Telepsychiatry Services

Telepsychiatry is intended for scheduled, non-emergency mental-health care.

During a telepsychiatry appointment, BluePrint Mental Health may need to confirm your current physical location and other emergency contact information as part of the practice’s telehealth procedures.

This information can help the provider determine the appropriate local emergency resource if an urgent safety concern arises during a scheduled appointment.

If you are already experiencing an emergency before your appointment begins, do not wait for your telepsychiatry appointment. Call 911, go to the nearest emergency department, or contact 988 as appropriate.

Do Not Use the Website for an Emergency

Please do not rely on any of the following for immediate crisis assistance:

  • Website contact forms
  • Website appointment requests
  • Email
  • General office messages
  • Social media messages
  • Routine telepsychiatry scheduling
  • Other non-emergency online communications

These communication methods are intended for routine questions, scheduling, and non-emergency communication and may not be monitored continuously.

A response from BluePrint Mental Health may not be immediate.

After a Crisis or Emergency

Once you are safe and any immediate emergency has been addressed, you may contact BluePrint Mental Health to discuss ongoing psychiatric care when appropriate.

Your healthcare provider can help determine whether outpatient psychiatric treatment, follow-up care, medication management, or another level of care may be appropriate for your circumstances.
